I would say yes you have to let them know. As a driver, you'll be covered by restrictions on how long you can drive. This would be in all employment. Your Monday to Friday employer would have to ensure you wernt breaching this even if your weekend employer didnt mind.

    In short....no.

Whatever hours you do on a weekend, will impact on your overall hours for the week, and if you can't meet the minimum weekly rest requirements, (45 hours/24 hours.) your breaking the law. Regardless of the fact your driving or not with your main employer, your still on duty, and should do manual entries on either a paper chart or digi card.

Plus there are also tax implications.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

No, legally you can't to a point that'd make it worthwhile. You have to satisfy the EU Drivers Hours Regulations in regards to weekly rest. Any work you do as non-lorry driving is counted as "other work" for tacho regs. You would need to have a weekly rest period of 45hrs between finishing driving and starting work the following week. You can reduce that to 24hrs but must compensate for the shortfall by the third week (you'd need to take a 45+19hr rest in one go) so in short, if you work 9-5 Monday to Friday you could do a Saturday shift once every three weeks but you must not start that Saturday shift before 2am on Saturday morning to comply with the 9hr reduced daily rest requirement.

In short, you can't do a Mon-Fri job then go driving all weekend or even one day every weekend.

Clamped down on it bigtime, Company gave us letters stating whats been said above.

Even driving non tacho vehicles for reward counts towards your total hours.
