Tried with a different HDMI cable? They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

Assuming HDMi cable - where are you getting you signal / Virgin box / what? etc
- too long a HDMi cable
- too many turns [ tight radius ] on your cable
- HDMi cable touching the power lead
- are the ' random white spots ' on solid black - turn down the brightness
- are the five spots visible form anywhere in the room, or just 1 position ?Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. How did you transport it - box laid flat or upright? At any time was it laid on its back or its front?
Plasma TV pixels can take a while to "bed in" and 100hrs is an often quoted figure for bedding in where you want to try and avoid areas with static pictures and films with black bars top and bottom.0 -
Hi, Richie, thanks for your response. We are getting signal from a sky plus box, the white spots are not on black and yes these spots are visible from anywhere in the room... thanks Paul
I'm assuming this is happening on all channels and not just the fast motion sports channel Try to eliminate settings first, your set is new to you, there is a full OSD manual if you press the info button.
- change your display settings from what they are to less bright / less contrast by changing those two values or if you are on the ' vivid ' setting change it to a less bright, has that helped with the sparkles ?
- what length HDMi cable are you using ?, shorter the better, even a £150 monster brand cable will struggle at 4 meters. Don't believe all the hype a £5 two meter cheepo will do as good as a £egga priced one. But once over two meters you must suspect / eliminate length as a signalling issue.
I assume also your HDMi does not have multiple turns, and it's not in physical contact with the power lead.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
