I am after a laptop or netbook that i can use when OH is hogging the computer..I don't want to spend a fortune i.e..under £250 if poss (yes...I know!). I know there are cheapy ones out there but which is best?
I use it mainly for business-adding things to my website through wordpress,twitter/facebook and email. Microsoft word would be helpful.
Anything you could recommend/tell me to avoid like the plague?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

For me the real question is, "How big is the screen?" If you need one larger than the netbook postage stamp size of 1024x600, you want a proper laptop.
And unless you're a student, you won't get Word for less than £lots - suggest you look at the free Open Office.0 -
There's a refurbished Medion Akoya at the Argos Clearance Shop going for £244

Their other laptop offers are here:

As John Gray says netbooks have tiny screens and get the free Open Office rather than Word.
