Could it be the hot weather? I remember Dr Feelgood having a grainy texture, maybe its been affected? Perhaps try putting it in a cold place?

Yes, you've got a point although the familiar smell is definitely not there.
It's a long shot but I'll pop it in the fridge and let you know.

Its a big shame - the benefit stuff is so lovely, to find something thats not right (either a fake or just a duff pot) must be SUCH a disapointment...

fingers crossed the benefit girls come good for you !!

Yes I was gutted, it was so sweet of her to just give it to me. She genuinely had no idea it wasn't right.

I'm going stick it in my bag the next time I go into town and see what the Benefit girls say. They're usually lovely, not lovely enough to swap my suspected fake for a real one though I fear ha ha!

Do you think it might be out of date? or just not stored correctly? I bought a couple of bits from ebay, they were fake, the packaging was the same but the product was not, i still had a little bit left of the real stuff bought from the shop so could compare.

I bought a benefit coralista from ebay and when it came i was sure it was fake cuz it smelled terrible and seemed the wrong colour etc. When I took it to a benefit counter for them to confirm it was a fake I was treated appallingly. Things were going well when I was chatting to a nice counter girl who told me it was a blatant fake until a supervisor came out and when I mentioned ebay she told me to leave as I hadn't bought it from an official vendor so they wanted nothing to do with it as it was not their fault! She was really rude :(:( I wasn't blaming them and of course I was not after a refund or anything as I hadn't even bought it from there! She said I was to disreguard anything the other girl had said and their position was that they were not willing to say whether it was fake or not :(

Which was really stupid as I was planning on buying a real one from them that day if they confirmed it was fake but I just left after that and haven't been back since! Sticking with Mac now hehe. And also avoiding ebay for makeup!

I hope you get nicer counter people than I did! Let us know how it goes.

PS. I told the ebay seller I thought it was fake and they admitted that they bought it wholesale from a chinese trading website. Benefit don't do wholesale like that so they were fake.

And you should be careful about putting suspected fake makeup on your skin as they will not have been saftey tested and might contain nasty chemicals. x

I agree the prices are a bit steep but this particular product did wonders for the appearance of my oily skin in this heat, which is why I was delighted to be given a pot for free.:o
I have yet to find a similar cheaper product which does the job but I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks for warning KP. I washed it off my face as soon as I realised it wasn't right.
I haven't been anywhere near a Benefit counter yet but will approach with caution when I do and update here on the result.

I think it's a fake to be honest although the tin is spot on.

No joy I'm afraid Meece. Still the same nasty stuff, only colder :rotfl:
Definitely worth a try though. Shame.
