acoustic solutions tv fault??

My friends parents bought an acoustic solutions tv about a month ago, for my birthday. everything has been great with it until this morning, i turned it on and there was no sound!!:mad: ive tried watching a dvd, playing the xbox.......but still no sound!! the model number is LCD32761HDF. Ive heard there have been a few problems with acoustic solutions tv's, but can't find anything to help me. I can't even get onto their website. Any advice???:o

I went to suggest you try a different scart/hdmi cable until I realised that the problem exhibits itself when playing DVDs, via the built-in dvd player I'm thinking. If it was an external player then the cables thing stands true. Check different cables, make sure the cables are plugged in properly.
no mention of an audio fault in almost 400 reviews here. http://reviews.argos.co.uk/1493-en_gb/5293544/reviews.htm?sort=rating&dir=asc but there are a few faults mentioned but the poster doesn't mention what the fault actually was. It seems they have a tendency to fail in the first couple of months though, with a couple of people going through several units before getting a good one.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -

First port of call after quickly deciding it's not user error is, even if it's a delicate question, ask the giver :
- where it was bought
- do they have a [ it's only weeks old, and the model comes with a negative history ] receipt
- do the retailers have [ Argos for example ] a ' swap out policy
- box it up, smile at the counterperson, and get it swapped for new, now .. .. .. today .. .. .. don't wait months !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
