Thinking about quitting job

Im looking at quiting my job and getting some temp work. Im just wanting to let off steam and maybe some advice. Reasons im looking at leaving are due to the job im doing is boring and extremely so, no chance of doing something else, theres a jumped up cocky little s*** who is very nosey when i take half a day as holiday and he spends alot of time talking and drinking coffee but i dont say anything as its not for me to say so as its for his manager to do something(keep on telling myself his time will come and he will get a kicking).
Im not happy due to the job im doing, I should be on more money as Ive been there for 15/16 months and as per the contract (ive realised contracts dont mean squat to the employer) I should get a review after a years service. Ive asked about my review and ive been told the boss is a bit slow in doing them so im beggining to think why should i stay if he isnt going to do my review.
I know leaving isnt the best thing to do but when its the only option open to me what else can I do. Im looking everyday for jobs and applying for any that I know I can do but im not getting anywhere as im told not enough/relevant experience (so why not put that in the ad then). Went to college thinking I could improve my chances of finding work I would like but thats not been much use.
No doubt there will be some people saying i should stay and i accept they're opinion.

I'm not going to sugges that you "stay and accept" as you put it. But I definately think you need to give it more thought before you do something you might later on regret.
Temping work is incredibly unreliable and often means that you'll be doing the same job as the permanent staff on a lower wage, and as you have said you're already looking for jobs elsewhere. By not having a job that will not be made any easier. Can you really afford to be unemployed? ..........it is easier to get a job when you already have a job.
Try working on your CV and interview skills. And ask for feedback from the places that you have already applied to and been rejected. They're not required to, but many will give you feedback that you can use to improve your chances and address the issues in time for the next time you apply for somewhere or get an interview.0 -

Guess what, theres one in every workplace. I think you need to deal with this problem rather than try to escape it. If you keep bottling up your anger it will stress yourself out, I always make it a point to tell people straight away if there is something about how they behave that I feel is inappropiate. Just be tactful when you do it, never aggressive.
Most jobs are boring. Its all about the money - nothing else

I think about quitting everyday when at work and i then think what would i do, should i stay etc. Ive had interviews and the feedback given is not enough experience which for the 1 before last interview was true as they had 3 or 4 other candidates with experience of macs whereas i didnt even though i was willing to learn but not good enough, last interview i thought i had it but they guy told me "i wanted someone with experience of managing the place in the evenings " which im sure wasnt in the ad, i have asked for feedback in the past and the amount of times ive asked for some i either get an email back saying they would get someone to contact me or i dont hear squat. Well i do have some money but i was hoping to use that for a car in september. My CV was actually praised other day or he said theres nothing wrong with your cv which i guess is a bonus.Guess what, theres one in every workplace. i understand theres 1 in every workplace but where ive been before ive got on with everyone to a certain extent(apart from an ex store manager who i had a little barney with), there was people who i didnt like but they were'nt nosey at all. I had a go at the jumped up little squirt other day as he was being too noesy and it made me feel better. The job isnt just boring its 1 where ive no interest, ive not been given no training at all, previous jobs ive enjoyed as people i worked with were pleasent, training was given and what i did was enjoyable. Im going to ask for back pay for the months i should have been payed the extra money0 -
Come on DCFC you probably know that realistically that if you quit this fairly stable job albeit boring for excitement will most likely lead you to less money and almost guaranteed a worse job.
Keep applying for new jobs and keep pushing for the review and pay increase.
Why should you be on more money? Is it in the contract, if it is then point this out, if it is not then you have no right to be on more money as you well know. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!
4 people on the ignore list....Bliss!0 -

So you've got a job, you're having the same problem that virtually most of the working population has (boring - always some muppet you don't get on with) and you've nothing to go to so you're going to pack it in when there's not a lot about, many people chasing them and you'll probably find its no better?
Mad is a word I'd use.
Oh and BTW, bits of paper don't improve your chances of finding work if there's no experience behind it. I would rather employ someone with a few years of experience and no quals than one with a long list of paper and no experience.0 -

yes its in the contract thats why im saying i should be entitled to it otherwise i would bother pushing for the pay review, it shouldnt be down to the employee to say something.0 -

like i said im thinking about it, never said i was going to do it, i understand the bit about experience but ive got FA experience apart from retail and im not even sure i want to go back to retail as i left to go to my current job thinking it would be interesting but how wrong could i be0 -
I also think about quitting everyday, but last night as I was going through my paperwork, I stumbled upon all those JSA letters and all those letters of decline I collected last year, makes me realise that I can't just walk out of a job, even if it is low pay and crap.
If you can somehow afford to quit then by all means do it, otherwise stick with it and keep looking0 -

1 half of me wants to quit but the other half says but how long would it be till you find something else and so i go round and round in circles.
Like i say i know its not the best thing to do. Its not even an employer i would recommend to people as its so bad.0 -
Sounds as though they could have reviewed and decided not to offer a pay increase. A 'review' is just that, a review: it does not mean 'automatic pay rise'.. . . I should be on more money as Ive been there for 15/16 months and as per the contract (ive realised contracts dont mean squat to the employer) I should get a review after a years service.
Given that many people are being asked to take a pay cut, not getting a rise is not so bad.0
