Programming spare Ford Focus key (only have 1 key)
Firstly my Focus is a 53 reg and I only have one key. I've searced around for the answer but have just been more baffled by the conflicting information.
I have assertained that you can programme the immobiliser chip on a new key if you already have 2 keys but not if. like me, you only have one. You can however programme the central locking.
I have sourced a genuine central locking fob and key barrel for just £29 however if I then get it cut I will only be able to gain entry to the car but not start the engine.
Can anywhere else programme the immobilser chip in the key other than Ford? And if so how much would it be, roughly?
Oh and I'm located in Preston Lancs if it's any help.
Cheers

If you purchase the second key then programming them both wont be any hassle.
My husband bought a car and whilst he had both keys for it , neither of them would work . On ebay , i purchased instructions on how to reprogramme keys for most makes and models of cars.
I think i stil have the instructions in my email inbox. If you want , send me a pm containing your email addy and i will forward it to you. The instructions are easy to follow and worked first time for us.0 -
Thanks Joanne. Pm Sent :-)0

Will you let me know how you get on ?

Thanks Joanne but those instructions were for programming the remote central locking button keyfob and not for programming the chip in the key to the immobiliser system.
It's looking more like I'll have to get a genuine 3 button key from fleabay for £29, get it cut, programme the central locking part myself as per owners manual and then get the main stealer to programme the immobiliser chip0
