Great find Dizzie, I love it!0

we're having our first honeymoon here barton-court . co . uk and then going to the arctic circle in march in the hope of seeing the northern lights. we're staying in 'the studio' - has its own hot tub and costing £250 to rent for the week. there's an on site spa, and close to nearby village with pubs and restaurants.
a very very long way away from cumbria - but what you're looking for is do-able!!!
hope you find somewhere you like!! xxx0 -
Thinking outside the box a bit because catered cottages are hard to find, I found this place in Cumbria which is really luxurious but self catered. I you look on their website and scroll down their rooms you come to a self contained unit which isnt self catered called Eva's Cottage - meals can be served there if you make arrangements with the owners.

On reading further it says children are not encouraged but to make arrangements with the owners, I can't see them refusing a baby especially if you stay in Eva's cottage.0 -
Broomhill Manor looks great especially as it has spa facilities and childcare http://www.broomhillmanor.co.uk/index.htm
Also, have you considered Centre Parks? I know they have properties with jacuzzis and other luxury features! You can also order extras like bottle of Champagne I think!0 -
mmmmmm broomhill...
Wow.
I was thinking the treehouse looked good until noticing they were booked up. Hotels I'm not so sure about, but the advantages of broomhill which would probably have the atmosphere of a tropical island hotel. Plus all the extras make it an enticing prospect, and Cornwall, well it's alright down there... well no it's actually very nice, we were down there for a week a couple of years ago, so haven't exhausted the area - though with everything on offer at broomhill, we may not need to get out much!
Some serious considering going on now!0 -
Try Whitefalls Spa Lodges
It's a bit further to travel but totally worth it, especially the enormous bathroom.
We stayed in March and spent the days walking the stunning beaches and nights relaxing in the spa. Plus got to see the Northern Lights right here in UK!0 -
Broomhill Manor.
Whilst it's not exactly where we wanted, we were swung by the facilities (especially for the baby). We got in for when we wanted - so we get a proper honeymoon and leave after the night of our wedding! Just have to remember to pack for it amongst all the other last minute panics! It's not somwhere we would normally stay as it is rather expensive. Both phone calls I have had with them sound positive (as in happy people!), and there have been no bad reviews that I have found.
Thanks for all the suggestions - we wouldn't have had so much choice if it wasn't for you!

+1
We stayed in one of their cottages, Great Calva, for my birthday a few years ago and it was lovely. Beautiful cottage, lovely grounds, really nice owners, nicely secluded but there is civilisation nearby.
ooh just noticed this is an old thread and you've already decided! Hope you have a lovely time on honeymoon!0
