Transfer photo's from external drive to laptop

I've had a search through the most recent threads but, can't find anything that helps answer my question.
I have a PC and a laptop, I save my photo's to both and, also to an external drive. The laptop has just come back from being fixed and, everything has been wiped, so I want to move the photo's back.
Rather than drag each file as there are quite a few, is there a quick way to do this? Just before the laptop went in for repair I used the Windows Backup tool, sadly it does not seem as easy to move the data back the other way...
Any suggestions appreciated

are all the photos in a single folder? then just drag and drop the folder into your "pictures" folder.
if not then go to the pictures and press:
"ctrl+a" (select all)
"ctrl+c" (copy)
browse to your pictures folder in windows and press:
"ctrl+v" (Paste)
then sit back for a while as it copies them all over...Laters

OR....
Right-click on the folder that contains ALL your pictures, and/or all the folders that contain your pictures.
Select 'Copy' from the context menu
Right-click in your Pictures folder on the laptop. Select Paste from the context menu.
Make a cup of coffee and have a Kit-Kat (or two, or three, depending on how many pictures you have.....0 -
