what a mess, and what stress you must be under. i agree with all the advice above, about getting your tenancy agreeement checked out - this is the first MOST crucial thing for you to do.
if you cannot find your copy, write to your landlord tomorrow and ask him, under the Data Protection Act for a copy of the agreement and a copy of all information he holds on you. This will cost you £2 (i think). but he cannot withhold the info.
At the end of the day, EVEN if he gets a court order to get you out, you do not need to leave. He will then have to go back to the court and ask them to appoint bailiffs.
Bailiffs are usually busy, and that will be another 2-3-4- weeks before they come round.
But, with your having these children, i cannot imagine a judge ordering an eviction notice without knowing that you have been offered accommodation b y the local authority. Judges do not like putting children on the streets, or into care.
try to stay calm, you will get help. but do approach the rent office first.
