Backpayments of working and child tax credits

My last thread was locked after people started abusing each other on it, so please if you're not going to give advice then do not reply.

We had our tax credits reviewed on Thursday and there will be a back payment due dating back to 23/4/10 (when my partner went onto statutory maternity pay).

Does anyone have experience of how long they take to make the back payments?

i have always found that its about 4 working days after you phoned them. I had a back payment a few weeks ago as they had not updated my information properly, i phoned on the thursday night and the money went in the following wednesday.

Hi , same here. I telephoned and gave my yearly details etc and i was owed a lump sum payment as my husbands employment / earnings had changed mid way through the year.

I think it was a thursday i phoned them and i had my full lump sum paid into my account on the Wednesday of the following week...so 3/4 working days.
