Hi,the property next door to me is being rented out but the landlord is going through the council (he works for them)to rent and the house is being rented out to people who are waiting for permenant council housing .
over the last 2 yrs the street has been subjected to drug dealers dealing from next door ,kids driving noisy souped up cars up and down the street at all times of the day and night ,a few weekends they had wheelie compititions at this lasted till about 4 am .
they moved a young 16yr old pregnant girl in and all they did all day was drink and smoke weed sitting at the front door it got to the point no-one would visit us because as soon as they got out there car they were getting hasseled by these kids .
all these things have been reported to the council and supposedly dealt with .
the family that are there now play there music at full blast constantly last night it was so bad my bed was actually vibrating with the base of there stereo 3 neighbours and the police all knocked the door but no-one would answer .
my dh went to work at 7am this morning absolutly shattered .
the whole street is now so fed up with it all .
Is there any way we can complain or get the landlord to stop renting the house out like this ,we havent had a decent sleep in nearly 2 yrs ,the police are being called out nearly every weekend .
I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown .

See your councillors. Keep a diary. Attend neighbourhood watch meetings (cos the top bods from local police attend usually and you can bring this sort of issue up)0

Start one yourself. You never know, it may prove very popular.
You can't be the only neighbour affected by this - unless there's only your two houses in the middle of nowhere?0 -
Speak to your local safer neighbourhood police team. You can find them on your police website. They are meant to help deal with long term anti social problems.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

Most Local Authorities now have an Anti-Social Behaviour Unit so I suggest that you start canvassing your neighbours and all of you affected begin contacting them every time there's a noise-nuisance. I'd also start making a nuisance of myself with the Housing Department and I suggest that all of your other neighbours do the same.
If you aren't issued with dairies to keep a note of everything that's going on I suggest that you all start doing it now in any case.
All drug-taking and/or dealing should be reported to the Police. I believe that you can do this anonymously but I'd probably do this as a neighbourhood group rather than individually.0 -
thanks we are a little side street of only 18 houses ,they are breaking the temper of all the neighbours ,at least 2 other neighbours knocked their door last night ,
I just spoke to one of them he was out in the garden having a ciggy ,his words were whats the problem luv it's the weekend .the weekends are for partying0 -
the thing is there is about a 6 mth turn around they are there for about that time then offered permenant accomodation .we are constantly going in circles we have done all the diary stuff with previous tenants .
I just cant take anymore ,we cant sell as we would need to disclose that we have problems with next door0 -
With only 18 houses in the street it should be quite an easy task to get every single neighbour onside. It's a sad, unfortunate fact that the overwhelming majority of bad neighbours believe that they are at liberty to act in any way that suits them, so please don't be drawn into a discussion about it with them as it won't be good for your blood-pressure and will achieve nothing.
All of you need to contact the LA over and over again. Daily, if necessary.0 -
You say you have done all the diary stuff with previous tennants? Im not sure if you have already with the note taking in the diary but everytime you ring the Police ensure you give the address of the tennents and get a Log Number. Then when you speak with your local community officer you can pass on these log numbers and this the Police can do something about! If all your neighbours do the same it shouldnt be too long before the Police do something!
Not a short term solution i know but ensuring you keep track with log numbers makes it alot easier for the Police, therefore a bit more likely they will do something. If they dont, give the local press a call!0
