hi there, i THINK they do check your data, you can apply for an increase online via the website so you dont even have to call up. You have to have had your card 6 months before they will increase it - or thats what it states on the website..so you should be fine if you havent gone over the limit or had late payments.
To be honest, if you have got an aqua card you may want to try for a capital one card to move the balance over to...the progress has a better interest rate than 39% you currently pay. Without preaching to you the idea of aqua is that you use it to re/build your history, by keeping a balance like that on it you must be paying lots in interest repayments0 -
They do a soft search on Call Credit for limit increases. It's not a full search, and isn't that strict as they gave me a limit uplift a few months after I'd been discharged from BankruptcyCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I requested an increase on the website once and they increased it to more than i asked for, I only asked for another £150 and they gave me £500, then a couple of weeks ago they increased it again themselves. I have not seen anything on my credit file when it was increased so they don't seem too strict. I am happy with the limit they gave me so i did not refuse it but i would never spend that much on it because the interest is quite high. Handy for emergencies though. Try applying through the website, worst that they can say is no.0

Did you check Call Credit for a soft search after requesting the increase?
That's good news re: the limit increases, friend has just got an Aqua card £750 limit and we're going to want to use it to put down the deposit on a house (renting) for a few weeks waiting for our old deposits to be released (three of us are moving out of our respective flats and going in on a big a$$ shared house)Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
