So living in a HA property do you have to inform the council/HA of people moving in & out of the property? I don't mean for benefit reasons just in general.
If so what forms do you need to fill in.

You wouldnt have to tell the Housing Association. They usually do periodic checks to get a view of how many people are living in their properties. But you're entitled to live in your property, with who you want, peacefully so long as you dont breach your tennancy, cause anti social behaviour etc.
Though you would need to inform the Council if you are claiming housing benefit or council tax benefit so they can reasses your claim.0 -
Thanks.
So when they moved into the property they listed who would be living there. One of those listed is moving out but that means nothng to me in regards to me living in property?0 -
If the person who has moved out is a joint tennant then the HA needs to be informed, if they were just listed as say a family memebr then no. As for you moving in no, unless it specifys you must notify them them within the tennancy. But you would also need to tell them if the number of people moving in takes you over the limit of people the tennancy says can live there, but if someone is moving out I assume thats not the case.0

Do you mean you want to change who is on the tenancy? Succession or assignment?
The tenancy agreement or tenant handbook will give advice on the information that the HA wants to know or not with regards to changes of occupants.0 -
no not the actual tenancy just the other people living in the house.0
-
senario:
Tenant A (named tenant), Tenant B, Tenant C, Tenant D.
Tenant B & C named as living in property at start of tenancy on agreement.
Tenant A transfers to Tenant B. Tenant D moves in.
Apart from the transfer, anything else need to be done?0 -
whose name is the tennancy agreement in and do they still live there?0
-
tenant A has the agreement in their name, will move out once it's transfered to tenant B0

Just been informed that the HA need to know who is coming in & out of the property. What information would be needed?0
-
some information here http://england.shelter.org.uk/get_advice/families_and_relationships/assigning_a_tenancy
The Housing Association has to approve the transfer and different HAs will have different rules - if you look up your HA they should have information about assigning the tenancy - they will review the request and either accept or reject0
