Photocard License Renewal - Speed?
I have received the forms through the post to renew my photocard license which has just expired. This has caused me with a little dilemma.
If I get the forms off on Monday - the DirectGov site says it can take up to 3 weeks to process. However, in 2.5 weeks from Monday I am due to move house!
For anyone who has renewed their license, did it take the full 3 weeks or in reality is it likely to be any quicker?
I have to hire a self-drive van for 1 day to move furniture (on Friday 16th July) and will obviously need to present my full, valid license on this date. I'm a bit worried it may not come in time.

You get it back quicker if you spell it correctly.
So I've heard.

never thought about this, would they care?
I presented my licence for some driving work a few weeks ago and no mention was made
it was out of date in March0 -
You should wait till you move then you can put your change of address down also saving the hassle of sending your licence off twice0

I renewed my photo licence at the end of May, the licence was due to expire mid June. It took a lot longer than I thought over 2 weeks. Normally most agencies such as the DVLA and Passport Office have fairly quick turnarounds. The man without a signature.0

I had my wallet nicked a few months ago & with it my photo licence.
Applied for a new one online & got it in 7-8 days.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
My Dad had a new one for a change of address, ordered late monday arrived yesterday. He also wasn't charged!War does not determine who is right - only who is left.0

It's not, it's another 10 years, we were expecting to pay (I was putting it through for him, tad computer illiterate) and a payment screen didn't come up.War does not determine who is right - only who is left.0

If I remember correctly (asking a lot at the mo) they ask if you want to submit a new photo, if you don't they use the one on record & the expiry date will be the same as the licence you're replacing.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0
