I'm sorry that I found your original post difficult to read because the pedant in me hates the use of LCD's instead of LCDs, when it is simply a plural!
Other examples: TV's, plasma's, set's, it's, forum's, LED's, cop out's and (eek!) Curry's! None of these should have an apostrophe in the context in which you use them.
(Fortunately the actual content was pretty good...!)
Thanks for your comment John Gray,
I recall a conversation with a bloke called Wes Newell nearly a decade ago on the USENET boards about the situation regarding Model B Athlons [681] and its capacity to double the FSB, in which he accused me of using all the worlds commas up. Maybe he was correct and I am still doing it.
Clearly at 70+ years I am not going to re-learn grammar so we can assume my Janet & John standard will continue to be used. I will however try to remember when / if I directly respond to you to avoid the use of punctuation.
Memories ? eh ! I just googled his name and he is still posting Feb 2010
And I have just responded to you without a single comma  :beer:Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. John Lewis guarantee ~
Ive never used them myself, but reading on the net, MANY people have had problems when trying to claim
I'd have to work out a guesstimate of what % John Lewis specific and compare that to the % of all others.
- but
John Lewis 5 year is free others range from 10% of the cost of the set to as much as they can get out of you before your eyes bleed.
C&P "" John Lewis provides a free five-year guarantee, while Richer Sounds refunds customers who do not use their warranty ""Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. It might be worth paying another 10% for a decent guarantee though. (Of course looking into something of this nature would be a hugh undertaking, and certainly one im certainly not going to bother with

Agreed RIK, far to much of an undertaking, my avoidance technique was to look for A= free / and - or / B= rebated.
As far as I'm aware most if not all of the warranties are third party to any TV maker / retailer relationship there seems very little discounting by the insurer even for the volume sellers. Where people can score a win is if the retailer [ at the time of purchase ] is prepared to absorb some of the insurers costs [ usually ] by forgoing commission to achieve sales volume.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
