Well you could use it in the same sense as the facebook app. Where it makes it clear and nice and user friendly to go on threads and reply and answer questions etc.
Then from all the headings it can offer tips on the most up to date information etc.
Also a user friendly way in which to access Martin's blog.
Along with the email that is offer every week offering pretty much direct links from the iPhone or iPod Touch??
Offer the latest news as the guardian does with it's app.
Make like a money tester game for a bit of fun .
The range of free tools on offer also.

Having a verison of the site optimised for mobile swould be mmore sensible as then it would work for any mobile phone browser.

MSE could also add the tpatalk plugin to hte forum (if they haven't already) which makes vBulletin forums more friendly to mobiles. Then you would just need the tapatalk app on your phone which is availabel for iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Nokia.
