Glass tiles/ Splashback?

Please help, I am desparate to have my kitchen finished but just been told that splashback would not bee suitable as it too close to the cooker (10 cm) and the minimum distace is 11 cm. Do you think the same would apply to glass tiles? Are they made from the same material? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Rubbish! As long as you use a minimum of 6mm thick safety glass it wont be a problem at all. 5cm is the minimum distance required...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
