Are Lloyds strict when it comes to scoring for a new current account for new customers?

They are no easier or harder than any other high street bank. If you have a clean credit record they will offer you a full current account, if not, they will offer you a basic account.

When i opened my account my credit was far worse than it is now but they gave me a full current account ( Silver then i down graded to classic ) and a savings account.

But with lloyds they do like to see your account running nicely for 3-6 months before they offer you anything worth having, Just like any other bank really.
