i need a little help, i lost my last job on May 15th, signed on a few days later, i then got a job and started on June 14th, so i signed off etc etc, but i just missed the cut off date for getting paid today (we get paid on 27th of each month) so im not going to get paid till the 27th July, its an awful long time to work without pay and im not sure im going to have enough money to last me till then, is there anything i can do? can i get some help from JSA till then? once i get my first payment ill be fine as its a full time job on £7.06ph plus commission, so i just need some help till end of july.

any help appreciated.

You got another job quickly, well done, what are you doing?
Is there any family you can ask and you'll be able to pay them back when you get your first wage?

I would ask your employer for an 'advance' this is likely to be a regular occurence for them.
Bear in mind that you would be entitled to a only 2 weeks pay for June so it will be a tight month in July even if you get paid.

I'm in the same boat as you! You wont get any help from the jobcentre unless you've been signing on for 6 months+. You can always apply for a crisis loan but you would have to pay this back. More info on crisis loan here:-

I'd ask for an overdraft. Reason being, your first pay will be for more than a month, so you should be able to persuade the bank that repaying isn't going to be a problem. Do they have your P45, so that you get the tax right from the start?
