Good news everyone!!
Not everyone will agree with my method but today i went to the computer shop and insisted that the sale of goods act states that there should be a 'reasonable' amount of time before the customer being unable to a get a refund and a must accept a repair/replacement....i also stated that i wasn't going to leave the shop until i got my refund! Result- the refund was given!
If at first you don't succeed......stand your ground and argue your case...repeatedly!!
Well done but as the above poster said you are the reason that some retailers make it harder for other customers so when you have a troublesome retailer who refuses whatever you do then remember this occasion.
The flip side is though seeing as they gave you a refund would you reuse the company again? The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

Oddly enough, i mentioned to the manager that i will actually be using them again due to his helpfulness! So was he correct in stating the the 'period', which he decided was a month, was decreed simply because it was in their terms and conditions whereas i thought that it wasn't their decision to decide? Not yet a total moneysaving expert...but im trying!!0

They can put whatever limit they want on it as long as it is above statutory, the problem is statutory is only defined as reasonable and reasonable is generally accepted the time to test the product works reasonably and generally is accepted 2-3 weeks, 4 weeks maybe just about reasonable as well but 2 months is more than reasonable so a refund is not an automatic right whereas a remedy is.The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
