Home alarm door sensor

After getting a new front door fitted I no longer have the sensor attached that triggers the system when you open the door, it was set into the frame on the old front door.
What I'm wondering is there anything I can do to fix it (not sure if there are specific replacemnts available to buy) or should I just get someone out to fix it, it is probably a regular job for some one who maintains alarm systems
Cheers
