Why the UK keyboard is differnt from US keyboard?

I find it much easier to work with US keyboard because

- It has a wider left shift key [don't understand why there is big right shift key but small left shift key in UK keyboards]

- The Alt Gr key in UK keyboard serves no purpose other than typing € symbol! It leaves this key unusable for Alt+Tab operation.

- The UK keyboard has unusually large Enter key which offers no advantage!
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

I think the US keyboard is a little louder, it is a lot fatter, it has a tendancy to shove keys other than its own out of the way and impose its own on the rest, it often manages to break its own keys and even when you make a mistake and try to correct it the delete key won't work as it refuses to admit it was wrong.

I'm afraid it's a bit late to complain about the differences in keyboard layouts between the UK and the USA - you should have done that about ninety years ago, at least! Or if you're talking computers, since at least the time of the IBM 360 mainframe...

You really do need to take a chill pill here.;)
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
  • The Alt Gr key is also used to type accented characters. The UK keyboard layout follows the international standard (one key more the a US keyboard) which provides compatibility. For example, one can use a French layout on a British keyboard and vice-versa.

The AltGr key isn't really anything special - it simply does in one key what Ctrl+Alt do in combination...
