Hi all. i hope this is on the correct part of the forum.

i have been bought a Japanese Larch Bonsai Tree which is approx 3 years old. the lady that bought it me put it in a shallow pot with its soil and put it on top of a sponge in a plastic tray. she told me to water the sponge, and put concentrated miracle grow diluted with water on the sponge whenever the sponge feels dry or the soil looks dry. (the shallow pot has a hole in the bottom to absorb from the sponge).

im scared of watering it too much, and im not really sure what to do with it. can anyone help me, or point me in the direction of some good books or advice.

thanks in advance.

My hubby did one of their courses many moons ago, we have lots of them now in our little garden, from a mini forests 12" tall to 5' tall maple bonsai.

The staff really are happy to answer any question you have over the phone, and should you be near them, their bonsai garden is well worth a visit.

Hubby's bonsais get feed weekly with the same strength as everything else in my garden (as I do it, I just pour the feed over the soil after I have soaked the soil so it doesn't just drain away if they are dry.
Must be doing it right, some of them are 20 years old now. :)
