Advice needed - first child going to college !!

Hi Folks,

Had to happen sometime :-)

Eldest going to an audition/interview for music college next week.

Any general and/or specific advice from the wealth of knowledge on this site for me ??

He is 16 and the college is 100 miles away so we will need to arrange digs/flat for him.

I am tempted by a room in a family home (the college has no halls of residence) as this will mean he is maybe looked after a little better (any bets??).

pros/cons of this ??

I will check with the student office while he is doing his audition with regard to fee's etc.
I was told he will get his fee's paid and may be eligible for a bursary.....

p.s. we are in Scotland

many thanks in advance
