Switch based on warm-weather usage only?
I moved to a new house in mid April, :j and just had my first gas & electricity bills from the existing supplier. The bills are higher than their original estimate - but lower than mine My plan is that now I have a couple of months' bills I can shop around with a reasonable idea of my usage. But of course it has been warm for the last couple of months, so my gas bill is potentially a lot lower now than it will be at colder times (we have gas central heating).
When I've switched before (at previous house) I've always based the calculations on a full year's usage which is obviously a better guide.
So the question is - can anyone tell me how much more gas central heating commonly uses in the winter than in the summer?? Or any other hints for identifying our best buy with usage figures only for April to June?

Well should use no gas on heating in the summer.. so your gas bill is for hot water only.. about 1/3 of thre gas bill for hot water so maybe times your bill by 3 and that be what will be what it will be in the winter.0 -

Hi, The truth is that you can't accuratley forcast what you use with such little knowledge.
What you can do is to use the suggestion above and then compare Tariff costs to what your current bill shows( remember any discounts).
If you are on Std with any supplier and are prepared to move to DD for both fuels and fix your price and handle your account on line you will be sure to save money. I reccomend Eon Fix on Line V.08 but move quick fixed deals could get more expensive as gas prices have gone up 45% in 10 weeks.
Good luck and I hope this helps0
