tax credits and disabled child

I have a friend who has a child for whom she receives DLA medium rate care and low rate mobility.
She claims carers allowance but has recently had to give up her little part time job as the child's needs have increased.
She tells me she receives the family element ctc ~£10 a week. i thought you got more if there was a disabled child. Should she?
Just the one dependent child, husband works full time earning approx £25K.
Thanks

She needs to inform tax credits that her child gets MR DLA and she will be eligible for the disability premium in child tax credits, also make sure tax credits knows she is no longer in employment she must also declare she gets CA.krisskross wrote: »I have a friend who has a child for whom she receives DLA medium rate care and low rate mobility.

She can get the d.child element as has been said on that income I think it will be the full whack which is about £51 a week. She needs to declare carers obv.0

She will receive an additional £2795 a year (£53.75 a week). If her son's DLA (Care) is increased to the higher rate at any time, she should inform tax credits again, as there is also an enhanced disability premium (currently £1095 a year).0

Is the disabilty element irrelevant to income? I.e you could be earning £200k pa and still be able to apply for the disabled element of tax credits.
The enhanced disability element is actually a severely disabled element.0 -

It's income based, yes. I believe all elements of CTC are?Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

She has been told that she is not entitled as her husband earns too much.0

Hi, we get CTC with higher rate disabilty for our daughter but because hubby had a pay rise last year the amount we receive has gone down - so I assume it must be linked to how much you earn.I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:0
