Tenmah, if you think you can put the money away and not touch it, then put it away. It'll be a great boost to see that money in your savings ready to be added to for getting a lovely new runabout.

Evening all, I am a little down tonight. I found the perfect place to live for me and the girl friend and the kids, can afford the deposit and the first month rent (indeed every rent payment) but I have a couple of CCJ's so they won't touch me with a barge pole. What is frustrating is that the property has been marketed for two years and has been empty for two years (apparently my ideal home is not ideal for everyone :)) So I am back to square one. I do not have anyone willing to be a gaurnture for me. Finally to add insult to injury my girl friend has a clean credit rating :(

lmc, I'm trying. I'm trying not to put myself in stupid situations and not act like the world's biggest !!!!!!. So, I'm not even looking at men...except for a certain someone. I will not go near them...they're all bloody hassle.
downnotout that's bloody annoying...is there no way you can work around it?

Oooh lovely dress LMC. I do like dresses but don't seem to have the figure for many. I did get a nice plain black one from Matalan that I like but not quite sure I have the confidence to wear it to work. Still if the weather stays like this for a few weeks I can wear it on holiday where no one knows me and I won't care what I look like so much.

elfen apparently not. according to the agent it is to do with the insurance :s. So in the mean time someone who wants to move in to a house that is hard to let is left feeling frustrated and a house stays empty. I really think that in the present climate the government should stand in and do something to end this sort of madness.

There are some letting agents that allow you to rent with a CCJ, but they ask for about 6 months rent up front, which I think is ridiculous as it is a large amount of money.

Of course that won't help you with your dream place downnotout if it is with an agent that won't accept CCJ's - Could your girlfriend be the lead tenant so the credit check is done on her only?

  • Downnotout - that's bleeping annoying!! Is there anyway your girlfriend could do it in just her name? It seems stupid to have a property sat empty for two years when someone is willing to rent it out.

Elfen - I'm loving the attitude girlfriend. (Sorry went a bit GOk Wan then!)

    God it's hot

Well you would think that she could, but the agent didn't seem interested in working something out. he just said that if she took it alone, then I moved in with the kids then that would violate the tenancy agreement. I can't believe how frustrating all this is.
