hey all.
my husband and i are in the midst of ending our marriage, currently we are living together but as soon as he can he wil be moving out.
i need to know if there is anything i am able to claim?

he works, im a sahm.
we have 3 kids, 11, 7 and 2 yrs old.
own our home, with a 40,000 mortgage.
no credit cards or loans.
no savings.
no other income.
currently get child ben and child tax credits.
does anyone have any idea what if anything i can claim?
and what my next steps might have to be?

You can claim income support as a single parent. And claim maintenance from the childrens father. Will he also be contributing towards the mortgage? If not you can claim help with the mortgage interest only after being on income support for more than 13 weeks0

It is possible that you are no longer a couple, yet for reasons, need to remain under the same roof for a while. Do get an arrangement of chid support as Karenx has stated - with three children this would work out to be about 25% of his salary if going by CSA guidelines. You can also claim IS as a single mum, and also notify child tax credits - end your joint claim and start up a single claim. I believe going that way (joint to single) is almost immediate with no interruption to your payments, as they're not adding on any new info they need to confirm, they are removing some.0
