Insurance quotes are like pick a number out of the hat, Thats your premium.

Got quotes from the comparison websites? That will soon tell you if its competetive.

I looked at the tesco insurance online & cover was rubbish, Way too much excess.

If your buying the car & insuring it for the young one, FRONTING.

The policy can get cancelled if they suspect it.

Main driver is a 52 with a large company car, They will question why he goes out and
    buys a small hatchback.

  • I was with Tesco for a number of years, wife still is..

I used them once to claim when a third party hit me and drove off.. They are fine, the repairs that my car went to were rubbish and royally screwed up the repair. I complained and was told to choose my prefered repairer, I did, they sent someone to inspect my car.. all agreed and was fixed again..

Although not happy about the 1st repair, I'm guessing that they are just using a list so don't know them directly (interestly the repair company went bust soon after). Otherwise no real complaints. Only left because I found somewhere cheaper oftering the same cover..

Wife phones them up at renewal time and gets them to match her cheapest quote.

In terms of excess mine was 250 quid..
