I borught a watch from next (it was my birthday present from the wife, but she asked me to buy it on-line) I paid upfront and the watch arrived, no problems everything went well.
I then started getting emails of offers from Next, which was ok as it alsways had a link to the new online directory. Happy so far.
I moved house in Dec 08, still continued to get emails (yahoo account) but thought nothing of it. Then at the end of Jun I recieved a update email, advising me of the changers to my account.
I contacted customers services who said no sorry email sent by mistake. No further info required, ignore email.....
Then late last year I noticed on my credit file I had been given a £200 limit on next directory. Nothing ever used and account closed.
I contacted customers services who again apologised, it took the best part of 2 months for Next to investigate the follwoing complaint.
When I phoned them to get the info about the credit account (even though I was told in Jun I didnt have a credit account) I also noticed that they had updated my address.
I had no contact with Next between moving and contacting them in Jun. The address was updated in Jul and then the account closed in the Aug 09.
I was confused but next could not provide me with where they had recieved the new address from. They apologised for the wrong info been given in Jun.
To take this further i was advised by next they would require a cheque for £10 to provide me with all the information on the computer system (common practice I belive).
However I thought this was dead until this week I recieved an email, stateing that as a valued customer they are sending me the new directory (at a charge of £3.00 odd)
Im not sure where to go with this. If they send me a directory I can refuse delievery (if im in at the time), I can return it (do they still charge for it).
I can phone customer services but not sure what they can add to this. They have already spent time on it and come up with the square root of nothing but an apology.
They did say they would remove the details from my credit file, however I had asked them to delay this action until I was sure of my next move (which was originally to ignore) but im glad it is still on there.
Any advice or suggestions would be great, cheers.
Pete

I'va had this with Next before - confusion over them opening credit accounts when I have paid in full and them delivering unwanted catalogues. In fairness, whenever I have called them they have been fine about it, and I have told them that there is no way I am paying for the catalogue they have always confirmed that I will not be charged.0

Just send them an email and ring to confirm stating you do not require a catalogue and should any be sent it will be treated as unsolicited mail and as such they will have to either collect or not charge for. Make sure you set the email so you get an acknowledgement and then you are covered.Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.0
