your car was hit by a friend of a friend in a private car park.
your car was parken behind another car, but not in a designated parking spot (busy car park)
everybody using the private car park was invited there by a common denominator mutual friend.
your car was stationary and they reversed into you.
there were witnesses.
at the time they denied what they did, but eventually they agreed to pay for damage.
insurance company details were not exchanged.
they are now refusing to pay, and trying to get out of this.
meanwhile your car needs repair.
what would your next move be ?
(i know what should have happened)
thanks in advance

Was anyone in your vehicle? If not I don't see how you can be held liable, granted if you parked... badly they still control a vehicle and shouldn't be able to escape the blame0

no vehicle was stationary and empty.
many people leaving at same time who saw incident

Straight to the insurance company, no messing. If you have witnesses, no problem. Frighten the bloody life out of them
and follow it through.
Let your insurance company deal with it, thats what yu pay them for !!!!!!.
You should have informed your insurance company for information only (at least) any,

What is the cost of the repair? If the other person is now refusing to pay then it is going to be your word against theirs unless there are witness statements.
Unfortunately people often don't want to get involved when they have thought about things after the event and you may find it tricky getting statements now. If as you say, the event was organised by friends, then this makes it even more difficult to deal with.
I would get an estimate, contact the person involved and send them a copy with a letter setting out the circumstances and reminding them of their agreement to pay for the damage. You could give them say 14 days to respond. If you don't hear anything you could then send a stronger letter saying that you will pursue the matter through the small claims court, but this will involve you with expense and unless you have independent witness statements your chances of success may be slim.
You could involve your insurers but this really depends on your circumstances as even though the other person is responsible, if you don't get the witness statements etc the claim is going to be against your policy, meaning that you will lose your NCB unless protected and your insurance will go up.
Unfair, but that's what happens unfortunately.0 -
If you look on the terms and conditions of your insurance policy you must infrom your insurance company of any incidents whether you claim or not. If you dont you are in breach of contract and as insurace companies are on a central database, they could potentially discover this and invalidate yur policy, even worse, they could reject any future claim.

Put in a claim and let the insurance company deal with it. Give them the details of all the witnesses you know.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
