Currys/mastercare fobbing things off onto everyone else, GRRRR!

Just needed to vent my frustration at Currys/Mastercares incredible ability to annoy customers by fobbing them off onto everybody else/backwards and forwards!

I bought a Plasma TV from them back in January which has recently developed a display problem. I called Currys nearly a month ago, who fobbed me off onto Mastercare. MC came out to look at it, made some rubbish about 'oh it needs a replacment component board as it isn't refreshing the screen properly, we'll order a part for it' (which was a fob off again...).

I called back a week later to be told that the problem is a feature of the set, and if it was causing me a problem then I'd have to contact the manufacturer. Of course though, they couldnt give me the manufacturers contact details either.

This being a fob off itself, I called Currys who agreed with me but fobbed me back off onto mastercare. Mastercare fobbed me back off onto Currys, who fobbed me off onto the manufacturers (who they didn't have any details for either).

Sigh. So I wrote a wordy letter to Currys head office, who have arranged for Mastercare to pick up the set. The engineer told me that I'd get an 'exchange note', and to speak to currys customer service for more info on this. So I called currys a couple of days later, who told me they had no info, and I had to call MC. Called MC, they said they don't know anything about Exchange notes as they're just the support company, they also said Currys are lying when they said they don't know about it. I'd need to contact their guarantee subcompany (who I forgot the name of). I called them, they told me I'd need to contact the manufacturers. No idea how to contact them though, as they didnt have any details.

So, they recommended I call Currys. Which I've just done.

'You'll have to call Mastercare, they're the ones that have authorised the exchange note and have all the information on it'

FOR GODS SAKE.

This has cost me a fortune on 0870 calls, and I'm sure thats why they do it. I really don't want an exchange note now, as it forces me to get another set from Currys and their support is absolutely horrendous.

I think I'm going to cry :(
