No chance of getting my money back

I returned an item last week 1st class recorded, seller only just responded to the Paypal case, which was due to close tomorrow, I have popped in my tracking info as requested, but lucky old me, royal mail have failed to update the system and the parcel is still being processed throught the systems.

I suspect the seller may have the item as I also sold something which the same thing happened, but the buyer received my item, system not updated.

So will Paypal not accept this? Will I have to do a Royal Mail Claim? What info will they need to make the claim?

Thanks

You'll have to make a royal mail claim. You have no proof of receipt by the seller for paypal.

RM just include a printout of the the final auction price and your paypal receipt

Recorded rarely shows delivery in some areas. as cyberbob says all you can do is try an RM claim.

We have had a couple of threads in the last week or so giving both sides of this situation. The seller may not have the item and there is nothing to suggest they do.

Not a dig at you, but I would like to know where the suspicion comes from? It works both ways. Unfortunately Recorded Delivery rarely works!

Yes and as my post says, 'MAY have the item', if I knew he did it would be 'HAS' or 'DOES'. I do know that it could be both ways. I WASN'T asking advice on that, was I?

But that is what I am saying. Why MAY they have it? You said you suspect they may have it. It was not a dig at you, I did say that. But you seem a bit tetchy this early.

I was merely pointing out that RD showing the processing message means nothing. It can be delivered, it can be lost or it can be in transit. So suspect whatever you like, there is nothing to say the seller MAY have it.

As has been explained, you need to use the correct method next time to ensure online tracking. You may try a claim from RM, but their internal systems are more detailed and may show the parcel as delivered. In which case you won't receive the RM claim and will lose a INR.

They may have it as I posted something else which also was not showing progress on, it was received. That is why they MAY have it, not saying the do, but still a possibility they might.

My item didn't show up on the Royal Mail system, so I claimed.

You've paid for tracking and they haven't done what you paid for.

They may have you item and they may not, who knows, just put in the claim.

If I were your buyer I would be badgering Paypal to reverse their decision.

Or is the RM tracking showing as delivered now?
