Hi,
Been with NIE for years and thinking of switching to a dif supplier.
Has anyone done this? Did it work out cheaper.
We are paying about £70 a month into the prepaid meter?

Thanks
R

Hi rosyni, and welcome to MSE :hello:

Be sure to come back and let us know how your attempt to switch supplier goes, won't you? :rotfl:

There is a new energy company 'Airtricity' based in Dublin that is now provides electricity to NI customers since beginning of June allowing them to switch from NIE. On their site it claims we could save up to 14% on electricity costs.
I have a keypad meter which they don't offer yet but are planning to in the future so I may consider it then.
Switching only takes 5 minutes, you provide them with your bill details, give them your current meter reading and they do the rest. You will be sent a final bill by NIE. Billing is every 2 months rather than every quarter.

    hope this helps!

Just had a sales rep from Airtricity call. Their prices are guaranteed 'til Sep 2011 & 6% cheaper then NIE after that.
I asked for a leaflet stating that and he produced one and quoted the small print......' UP TO 6%....'
So I said that it COULD be 0.5% and he quickly turned on his heels and left.
    I was only asking.

They also require a £300 deposit if you currently have pay and go.
