lastminute.com ripoff

I recently responded to an email flyer from lastminute.com, the flyer took me through to a page listing discounted and non discounted tickets together. I purchased a ticket to see Pricilla Queen of the Desert, only to find out when picking up the ticket that instead of a £20 discount I was being charged a premium over the listed price and to add insult to injury the tickets were restricted view - which was not made clear at the piont of purchase. The tickets were therefore un-usable, as the view from the 'balcony' was beyond belief bad. Lastminute denied any responsibility when I complained - BEWARE OF ANY OFFERS ON THEIR SITE.

I have bought theatre tickets from Last minute several times and not had any problems. Have been upgraded last twice when buying £10.00 tickets.

Exactly my experience. LMC's £10 tickets are the best value anyway provided of course that you want to see that particular show. But, I have bought tickets for shows that did not particularly appeal and I have never had a bad time.

Thanks Karen. My experiences as well. LMC's tickets for theatre cheapies are excellent. They are not so good (but not bad at all) in other areas.

Perhaps the OP will come back and repudiate these points.

I have also used them many times and mainly had good experiences but I recently had a really bad experience with them concerning a theatre booking. I am in the process of trying to get a refund for a show that was cancelled. I have phoned and been on hold for 20 mins at a time. I have emailed 3 times and been had emails back saying they are looking into the problem but then they haven't. I have written to them by recorded delivery and they have still not refunded my money. I am disgusted by this awful customer service.

I assume this is a bit late now - but did you keep the original invoice they send you - does it say "resticted vie" - if not, then I would be complaining to lastminute.com - keep at them ....
