Does this exist ?

Options
Hi all

Sorry if this is the wrong place but wondering if someone can help.

Basically in my lounge, I d like move the tv and freesat box to a corner where there are power sockets but no freesat or aerial sockets (Need aerial socket as plugged in to freeview recorder)

Basically does anyone know if a box - which I could plug in the satellite and aerial into that would transmit to the tv the other side of the same room - exists ?

Many thanks for your time

    Hi

Yes they exist, Ive owned a few of them but they are usually cheap (£30) and the quality tends to be a bit poo, and when transmitting to a TV in another room or on a different floor of the building the quality can be dire.

If you are just transmitting accross the same room they will probably be OK.

I cant post links but if you search for 'Wireless AV transmitter' or 'video sender' you should find some, Argos sell them.

When browsing ignore any reference to 'maximum range 50 metres' etc - the ranges are wildly overestimated on these devices.

The quality will be pretty bad, and wireless networks/microwaves will interfere with it.

There's really no substitute to running cable.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it

An A/V sender isn't going to help the OP, they want to be able to transmit the RF signals across the room from where the antenna/satellite sockets are now.

    @ oxenryd,

What you want can be technically done, but it would cost you a fair few quid and you'd more than likely need a radio license to start transmitting across the bands that you want to.

Much much cheaper to get a small reel of RG6 cable, F connectors, couplers, and just extend the cable to where you want.
Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.
