Advice Please

Options
Hello, a little bit of a long one but advice needed.

Our neighbours (who we do not see eye to eye with) have decided to suspend their large bushes off of our fence by cable tying them to the uprights of the panels (not the posts) that stop the fence falling apart.

Obviously, the fence is now broken (uprights are now seperating from the featheredges) on their side as these uprights cannot take the weight.

Can we just cut the cable ties & repair the fence?

Or do I just burn down their house & be done with it? :)

Do you want them to pay for the repairs or do you just want to prevent further damage?

Assuming that it is the latter then I would go round and explain to them that it is damaging the fence and that you will have to cut the cable ties. To cut them without talking to them first (regardless of how wrong their behaviour has been) might just inflame the situation. If you tell them that you need to do it, then at least it offers the opportunity for a discussion to try and resolve it more amicably.
  • They are on holiday.

But it can't really get any worse.

Think I might have to hold my temper & write a letter.

Unfortunately I cant do anything verbal with them because they will just deny it when it suits them.

It sounds as if they are just as likely to deny that they received a letter. Just put in in the letter that you will be cutting the supports in a few days time, so they should make some alternative arrangements to support their plants.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
