Uses out of an old 3-in-1 printer

What can be done with an old 3-in-1 Epson printer? Is it the bin?

Or could I be adventurous (which I am already) and fiddle with the internals/ get something useful out? Or even turn it into just a scanner? (Although I do have a scanner...)

Any ideas welcome!

Our last one we put on freecycle and the person that got it wasn't bothered about ink etc because they just wanted a scanner to use.
So maybe worth trying your local freecycle group?

Sadly the epson won't let you scan if you don't have ink in it... I think it would be more costly to buy the inks for the printer than to buy a new one.

It's that sort of "screw the customer" logic which means that I never buy Epson!
