Help - V+ recordings to computer

Hi all,
I hope someone can help me.
I have a Virgin V+ box and would like to transfer some of the recorded series to dvd. The book says I can connect to a dvd recorder, but I don't have one! So I thought I could connect to my computer (which does record to dvd), but I don't know how to do it - I don't have a scart at the back of the computer. I tried using a HDMI lead, but this didn't work (I must point out that I am not very 'techie' at all).
Any suggestions greatly appreciated,
NT xx

Your pc probably doesn't have the right connectors built in, most don't. You'll have to buy some sort of capture device, either usb or pci/pci-e depending on your computer. Cheap ones are less than a tenner. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

You'll need an analogue to digital video convertor to achieve what you want.
Avoid the cheap ones if you want decent results.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
Thank-you for your replies - Now I know what to look for, I will have another attempt at transferring the recordings.
Thanks again,
