Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

OK, so far I have uninstalled all the updates which may have caused the error. One by one, I uninstalled Google Chrome, uninstalled the update, restarted and then tried to install Google Chrome. Each time for each Update. (4 times). The Updates made no difference and I still cannot have Chrome on my computer.

I did the Malwarebytes and it said it couldn't find any malware on my computer after the full scan so nothing to remove. Here is the log:

    Still no Google Chrome :(

Really confused as to what/why this has happened- I was fine with it on thursday and all of a sudden it wont load. Restarted after every change, that many times I've lost count and still no.

I had originally done a virus scan which as I said, showed up something (apparently a Trojen on closer insepction). I deleted it and then did another full scan the next day. Same thing was there the next day (today- well strictly speaking yesterday). I deleted and then got rid of the virus protection as it obviously wasn;t protecting me! I uninstalled it (it was the Microsoft version), thought I'd try AVG again and was unable to load it. So basicly, I only seem to be able to Virus scan with Microsofts free version.

Although having said that when I tried to install I got the error message 0x80072efe. It continued to load and scan so not sure if it matters or not.

As I say, I have run this virus protection twice before and each time it gives me a new error. This time it shows another virus which is

    Category: Virus
Description: This program is dangerous and replicates by infecting other files.
    Recommendation: Remove this software immediately.
Microsoft Security Essentials detected programs that may compromise your privacy or damage your computer. You can still access the files that these programs use without removing them (not recommended). To access these files, select the 'Allow' action and click 'Apply actions'. If this option is not available, log on as administrator or ask the local administrator for help.

    Please run COMBOFIX
    http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
    Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be) ~ if there are loads of 'SNAPSHOT' pages then leave them out

If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download
(If no log comes up or you lose it, COMBOFIX.TXT can be found in C drive)
