Why close the ugliness thread?

Options
I was the one being slated, I haven't complained.

All it's done is led to me being called a hypocrite and not let me be given the chance to respond.

It's actions like this that really gets me mad about this forums policing.

There was nothing that bad/personal in that discussion, it was a fairly sensible debate by this forums standards.

Yet again I've spent time typing a response, only to have the words "thread closed" appear.

Surely there isn't someone that sad that they actually found something to complain about?

Or is it a case of someone disagreeing with me (or wee willy Harris) and not having any real reason for disagreeing, but as we don't agree with their way of thinking and they cant use debate to get their points across, they complain instead?

That's me done with this forum for a few more weeks. see you in a while

I think these discussions are pointless as the 2 camps interact with thwe world differently so will never agree.

Just now I asked the letting agent in my office how many of her tenants are genuine claimants and after thought she replied just one, a blind guy who in fact is one of her only claimants that does actually work too, despite his difficulties.

We get an endless parade of single young mums who have no concept of work, no concept of contributing to society. It's not thier fault, they just see claiming as a simple life choice.
Bevan syrely did not forsee that benefits beget benefits and leads to a whole strat of society being trapped in an endless benefits trap.

We will not solve it now, it's too entrenched and the state will never see the innocent children of claimants made homeless, hence thier benefits will not be stopped. Furthermore a growing number of our tenants are claiming mental conditions that cannot be contested - in light of the upcomming medical reviews pencilled in. These include agraphobia and panick attacks.

So we just have to accept those trapped in depandancy will be forever thus.

No. I wouldn't guarantee the voracity of her view. Hey ho.

Many things go on in peoples lives that aren't obvious to the eye, even a letting agents eye. Family circs, history, illness, disability etc etc, There is, thank goodness, no need for people to wear their personal life like a T shirt. Although I understand a system of labelling has been tried in the past in the form of "badges". But I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want that.... Or would you?

MSE is a benefit bashing site primarily, and a money saving site secondarily. So a thread opposing benefit bashing wont last long.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
    [/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that
[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)
  • That makes sense.

I think that just applies to the forums part of the website, not the website as a whole.
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

My mistake from what I can see it's a lets hate the taxpayer site.

All I see is benefit threads not any about coming job losses, pay cuts, NI rises, ctc cuts for workers, just what the budget has done to benefits.

If you have different opinion, you are a troll, benefit basher or if people can't cope with your POV, they get the thread locked or hurl abuse at you.

Just a new trolls opinion, and the "benefit" claimants are the worst out there for "trolling".
