Brought the kids a paddling pool yesterday, filled it etc, after they had done I watered the plants and veg with the water and tipped the rest on the grass, I was just wondering how long is it safe to leave the water in for? 1 day, 2 days, 3?
Thanks

Ours is never left and gets emtpied every day.. but by them it is filthy anyway.. grass and mud and goodness knows what else.. I'd say if you had a lid for it (so nothing fell in and drowned) it would be ok for a couple of days providing it didn't look like oozy mud!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

I think it depends how big the pool is. If it's small enough to empty every day without much effort then do that. It can get really manky with all the mud and grass the kids feet drag in.
If it's bigger then I'd buy a water treating kit. I got mine for about £20 in argos. Plus you can get a little pump for it really cheap on Ebay.
I've only had my pool up for a month or so but it's been good so farFuture Mrs Gerard Butler

I used to cover it over with an old groundsheet overnight, but during the day had a washing up bowl next to it so the kids could step in that first before getting in the paddling pool.....stopped a lot of the grass cuttings, sand and grit from going into the pool. Still changed the water in the pool every couple of days or so, though!:D0

we keep ours in for up to 5 days. like the others suggested you can keep the water clean by making the little fellas clean their feet but at the end of the day, a bit of mud and grass won't hurt anyone.
Water is a precious good these days and I strongly disagree with emptying it every day. Down here in the South East we are due a hose pipe ban any time now because there is not enough wather around. And then there will be no more paddeling pools at all, imagine the faces of the kids..!0 -
WE only put ours up at the weekend so it normally last for those couple of days. We have a little fishing net to get all the grass out of it. If it was a bigger pool i would probably invest in a water treatment kit or a water pump as its only still water that will go manky and stagnate but as it stands for the pool we have its not worth it.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

unless it has a cover, i'd be emptying it everyday - just incase of an accident. i'd never forgive myself if someone/thing drowned in it.0

ours is the 8ft pool, we buy the little sachets from B&Q for it and it keeps the water clean for 2 weeks, it also has a cover0

We just have a small paddling pool. I normally empty the water out every 2-3 days as it ends up manky with muck, grass, sand, leaves etc., in it.
It doesn't take long to empty and doesn't flood the garden. It's small enough to drape over the swing frame and I give it a good blast with the hose to clean all the muck up.
Then I set it up again on a different section of lawn, so it doesn't kill the grass. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Just where ours in hanging at the moment. We usually leave the water in for a couple of days. ALso when we empty it we make a game of it & water the plants.0
