Hi, can anyone please advise me ...
I have just had new fascias and sofits fitted to my house and the chap who fitted them told me that the wires that bring the electric supply to my house are perished in places.
Do I have to contact the electricity board or can any electrician look at it for me, and also if they need to be replaced do I have to pay or is it down to the electricity company to replace them free of charge.
Any help gratefully received
Thankyou

Contact your electricity provider. It is their responsibilty to maintian the cables to the property. Their responsibilty ends when the cables get to the meter box in my region. Had a similar situation as you a couple of years ago wher the incomer was actually attached to the fascia board and was coming away. The electricity board sent in people to relocate to a more secure fixing point and they ended up renewing the cable all the way to the meter as well at no charge to me.0
