BNWT from Primark but vintage

sorry I know it is not that funny but it amused me. In the ifnished listings on ebay there are some 'vintage' pearls from primark.

I rather fear the seller doesn't understand what vintage means although in fainess in the listing they do amend that to 'vintage style'

I think the term "vintage" in some instances has been reinterpreted to mean a certain fashion style. But she really should have put "vintage-style" or something.

Couldn't Vintage-style be construed as keyword spamming though, like as-new?

Actually you are probably right. I was looking for some ideas on costs for real vintage pearls to see if it is worth buying them at auction (no it isn't). It wasn't helpful to see lots of fake and new ones when I really wanted costs on something from the 1920s.

I love vintage stuff & find it really frustrating to get all the brand spanking new, vintage stuff that's listed. I wish that they'd invent a new word for it.

Arghh, I shouldn't go to auctions, or else I should sit on my hands. I didn't buy the pearls but i have bought a genuine vintage 1920s tiara, it is actually quite awful, all dangly bits and fake diamonds..i just got carried away.

I'm OK on ebay.....usually :o, but put me in an auction house and I just can't help thinking 'oooh, that's cheap' and I bid without the slightest idea what I am going to do with the stuff. Obviously I go with my auciton catalogue marked with prices and things I want to buy, having done all my proper research, then i come home with a car load of other stuff.

You should wear it when answering questions on here, as you're the Queen of the ebay board.

People always describe Primark clothing as 'vintage style' which drives me mad when searching for actual vintage. It seems dishonest and most Primark stuff won't last as long as an equivalent 1970s high street dress - I really don't like the fabrics they use.

That gives me a use for one of the items, but I've got two more box loads I've hidden in the storage place
