Translator needed for filling forms

Met someone from czech who is having difficulty filling out a child tax credit form. He has trouble understanding or reading english. According to his 12 year daughter he is having difficulty in finding someone to fill out his child tax credit form. Is there someone he can ring to help him fill out the form? A translator maybe? I know some forms from benefits can be supplied in different languages.

Thanks
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

Because benefits are going to be cut hard in this country for British citizens.

I find it quite incredible that someone can come here, not speak our language and then have the audacity to claim benefits.

Can he not claim them in his country of origin?

He lives with his wife in a rented house. They have 3 children. The wife works part time. When they ring the helpline it is difficult for them to understand what is being said etc etc

Could this be an opportunity for him to learn to understand English? How does he work if he cannot understand his colleagues/ customers?
    Gone ... or have I?

They have been in this country for at least a year. Don't know how they came over here.

He used to work over a year ago but got laid off. His wife works. She talks better english but not good enough to talk to benefits office on the helpline. They have showed me the child tax credit form which they are having difficulty understanding. I explained as best as i can. Can't say if they are claiming any other benefits.

  • If your a friend then surely you can try and help them fill in, surely if they have paperwork you would be able to do it. It cant be that complicated it must be what you earn ie wage slips

Have done so in the way of filling in her earnings. It is that i want them to be 100% correct when sending in the forms. Personally don't want to be responsible for any errors. Did ask him to ask a friend to act as a interperator and to ring up the helpline. He can talk on his behalf.
