Paypal help please

In april I took out a months trial at a diet club , and paid for that month by paypal. However today I discovered they have been taking regular amounts from my paypal account .
Its listed as a subscription , however I never signed up for such a thing.

So I have just tried to cancel it from the paypal site and there is no option to do so ?

Really need help on this , please can any one help.

  • if you have a debit or credit card linked to your paypal account, this could be why they are taking out regular payments. is there not the option to unsubscribe directly from the diet club? HTH

Look at the terms and conditions of your months trial.
There is probably a clause that if you dont cancel it at the end of the trial they will enrol you properly for a certain length of time. It the usual case and quite normal, Im afraid, This is what a lot of these 'free trial' companies depend on. ie people not reading the small print.

you could be stuck with it for a 12 month.

Regular amounts ? how often do you check your bank statements?

you sure it was not a 30 day trial but that you need to cancel before the end ?? Ancestry and creditexpert do the same on their trial unless you stop it

You can normally on paypal subscriptions cancel them. Go to your transactions. Find the last payment from the one you want to cancel and go into details. It should have some blurb aout subscription payments go to the link that says my pre approved payments You should have a list click on the one you want. There is a button at the bottom of the page to cancel that subscription

    Hope that makes sense

But if you cancel the payments and you are actually signed up they will still chase you for the money because you owe it, so i would contact the company first if i were you.

At the bottom of mine (page says subscription information) it has 3 choices update information, cancel subscription, and return to log. The page should have details of the subscription if its monthly quarterly etc.

It makes sense though to stop the subscription first. Then if you owe them money its far easier to pay them than get refunds back off them IMO.
