i have a poor credit rating and have applied for the Aqua card (have never applied for anything in the last nine months ) it did not approve straight away but said i would hear in ten days. Is this normal?
Make £11,000 in 2011 / ebay £600

Pretty much. Aqua like to approve as many people as possible and so will manually underwrite anything that does not automatically pass their credit scoring system.0

Aqua have declined me twice straight out in the last year. I have a Vanquis card and I am waiting for my shiny new Capital One card to drop through the door any day now.Remember this: nothing worth doing is easy.0 -

I've got Vanquis, Very, JD Williams etc.... but declined outright by AquaCapital one £200 - bal nil. Aqua £350 - bal nil
Vanquis limit [STRIKE]£250[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£750[/STRIKE] £1250 - bal £450. Nat West overdraft limit - £300, unused. JD Willaims limit [STRIKE]£400 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE] £600 [/STRIKE] £900 - bal £90.
Very limit £400 - balance £329 (buy now pay 2011!)0 -

A friend of mine who has two previous defaults (one now settled) and smatterings of missed payments (all 1+ year old) was turned down for Aqua last year.
He got a Cap1 Classic before Christmas and has now been approved for the Aqua card.
