No Claims Bonus Overlap - £300.00 for 20 days insurance?

Hi All,
I hope someone can help. I sold my bike and bought a new one. My current insurer was uncompetitive on my new bike - and it was a pain to get them on the phone, even though my policy only had six weeks to run.
I took out new insurance with a new insurer, and tried to cancel my old policy, but couldn't get through.
Any how, I eventually got through and cancelled and was stung by the admin fee).
My new insurer now wants £300.00 for the 20 days when the NCB was on the old sold bike. That’s a premium of about £4000 a year! My annual premium is about £150.00.
My new insurance has also had a lot of trouble getting through to my old insurer to confirm the NCB - its on their records.
How can it be right to charge £300.00 for 20 days?

The risk and liability was EXACTLY the same - or am I missing the point?

I think you may find the £300 is the difference over the whole year for not having no claims bonus, contact the Insurers and ask them to calculate the difference for the 20 days which if I'm right should be circa £17 plus any admin fee

They are getting back to me...but at the mo they are asking for a payment of £300.00 to cover the 20 days.

Your £150 premium for the year is with the discount. Say you have 50% NCB - that would mean the policy was actually £300 prior to discount.

That's what I thought, but they are still asking for an extra £300.00 for the 20 days. I just don't get it
