I have a feeling it is a wild flower as it has appeared multiple times in my parents garden and seems to have spread throughout her street LOL!
I have also seen it in some overgrown unkept gardens and i`m so jealous because i love it!!
The pink flowers are on big tall green stems and the flowers are quite small.

The first one looks like what one of my weeds turned into at the side of my bins. It grew out of a tiny hole in the concrete. I moved it in the hope it will reroot. I'm guessing it will with how easy it grew.

The top one looks like Statice - a flower much beloved by flower arrangers and a popular dried flower.

The bottom one is geranium. If you cut it right back after flowering, you get some new growth and more flowers right up until the middle of Autumn.

They are both some of the mainstay core plants of many cottage gardens.

    Lovely thank you :)
My parents have a gorgeous country garden and i am hoping to get some colour and height in my new flowerbed so am hoping to get some for the back of my border.

It certainly grows through cracks, hedges and all sorts of odd places including through a worn wooden gate at the side of my parents neighbours house. It really is pretty and very colourful so i will try and get some to hopefully grow in mine x

I have taken some from my parents garden and replanted it but it has gone very red/yellow so wondering if this has failed or if it is on a pick me up. My parents said it does go that colour and they then cut it right back for a second flowering! Maybe i need to cut mine back too then x

The top picture is red valerian it is a lovely cottage garden plant that will spread every where. Its best to take the flower heads when they finish before they set seed to keep it in check. The second flower is a hardy geranium, which is much better behaved.

Tulip where would i find the seeds? in the flowerheads? (1st time gardener as you can tell) Would it be best for me to grow these from seed or take a small piece and try replanting in my flowerbed?
I am having difficulty finding a piece that is not in someones property so i can take a bit lol! I have even checked in nearby fields and cant find anything i could take a piece from.

Hi The seeds appear where the flowers were. They are white and fluffy. Keep an eye on the ones in your parents garden, some should be going to seed over the next few weeks, collect them and spread the seeds where you want them in your own garden. Also any tiny plants at your parents can be easily dug up and replanted, just keep them well watered for a few weeks until they are established hth

Really funny seeing your question, as I have recently taken over an allotment and was struck by this plant in a well established plot opposite me and wondered what it was. I have seen it everywhere ever since, but have never noticed it before! It must be a good year for it this year!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

The red valerian grows everywhere in my dad's garden, especially as he's not been well enough for a while to do any real gardening. I have tried and tried to get it to grow in mine coz I love it, but it's having nothing of it. Must be the very different soils as we are only about 30 miles from each other.
